Meet Emily

Emily works with young kids, teens, and families to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavior challenges. Specifically, she is highly skilled in treating challenges related to Autism and ADHD. In her work with young children, Emily teaches them new skills to reach their goals while closely collaborating with parents. She is passionate about bringing families closer together and helping them develop healthy relationships. She particularly enjoys seeing children overcome their fears and learn how to cope with daily stressors and anxieties. Emily also works with teens who are navigating difficult and complex emotional experiences. She is committed to helping all of her clients develop their authentic selves in a space that is free of judgment and centered around healing. Emily has extensive experience working with LGBTQIA+ clients and assisting them in developing and exploring their identities.

Emily uses evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. With her younger clients, she implements Play-Therapy techniques and uses the Zones of Regulation model. Emily also incorporates mindfulness-based practices with all her clients.

Emily is supervised by fellow Green Leaf clinicians, Sandra Concannon (LMFT 52907) and Swasti Cohn (LMFT 106668).

I approach my practice with compassion, empathy, and appreciation for taking the hard step to be here. I don’t believe there is just one therapeutic approach, as every human client brings their own individual story that is uniquely theirs. -Emily
