Kids and Families - Adults
Katie has been working with children, families and young adults for over 10 years. Katie works with children and teens to address behavioral challenges and treat depression and anxiety, in particular, PTSD and OCD. Katie has a specialty focus treating the effects of trauma in children. She is also particularly skilled at helping children and teens develop healthy emotion regulation strategies, reduce self-harm behaviors, and improve their self-concept and self-efficacy. Katie’s work with individuals and families includes interventions from CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), strengths-based approaches, mindfulness, and expressive art and play. Katie also has a specialty focus helping young adults develop independence and confidence for the transition into adulthood. Katie is supervised by fellow Green Leaf clinicians, Sandra Concannon, LMFT #52807 and Candace Selover, PSY #27942.
My goal is to create a warm and nonjudgemental atmosphere where children, teens, and families feel safe and comfortable expressing themselves. I meet clients where they are at with understanding, compassion, and respect in order to support the exploration of desired changes to empower the growth and healing process. I believe each therapeutic relationship is unique and focus on individual strengths to reach clients' full potential. - Katie
