Meet Dan

At Green Leaf, Dan provides therapy for children, teens, young adults, and families, with a particular focus on supporting boys and men. He has worked with children and families for over 20 years. Before becoming a therapist, Dan spent more than a decade as a special education teacher, and most recently, he worked as a school-based therapist supporting adolescents at a local high school. These experiences give him a deep understanding of child and adolescent development, family systems, and the challenges kids face both in and out of the classroom.

Dan specializes in boys’ and adolescent development, helping boys and teens build resilience, confidence, and healthy coping strategies during these critical years. He also provides a supportive space for men and fathers to strengthen father-child relationships, enhance confidence, and address the unique emotional and social needs that come with balancing family, work, and identity.

In addition, Dan has extensive experience working with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum and supports neurodivergent clients with an affirming, strengths-based approach. He partners with families to deepen their understanding of their child’s needs, improve communication, and build stronger, more connected relationships.

Dan’s therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies. He is currently supervised by fellow Green Leaf clinician Sandra Concannon, LMFT #52807.
